Volunteers at CHIC

CHIC's day-to-day affairs are handled by two volunteers, one Japanese speaker and one English speaker. These volunteers answer telephone inquiries, greet people as they enter the office, and offer information upon request to those who ask for help. This is a community service position with responsibility.
Due to the wide range of information services offered by CHIC, it is almost impossible for any one volunteer to be able to handle all questions personally. Access to a wide variety of sources - friends, business contacts, other information organizations, etc.- is the key to successful and rewarding volunteer work at CHIC.
Do you like helping people? If your answer is yes, then why not give CHIC a try? We are always looking for friendly and helpful volunteers to lend a helping hand at our information desk. Working at CHIC is a great way to expand your community knowledge and to meet new friends. You can volunteer to work on a weekly basis, on an as needed basis as a substitute volunteer, or we can use your help during our many special events.
Before you work the desk we will provide you with a comprehensive and fun day of training. During training, we will partner you with a friendly, veteran volunteer who will acquaint you with your duties.
